Coffee Shop
Mobile App

Platform
Role
Overview
The Coffee Shop app is a mobile-first ordering experience designed to empower everyday coffee lovers — including those with accessibility needs — to customize, order, and pick up their coffee with ease, speed, and confidence. It serves users from busy commuters to people with visual or motor impairments who struggle with traditional in-store ordering.
The Problem
Many coffee shop customers — particularly those with disabilities or low digital literacy — face anxiety, friction, and exclusion when ordering in person or through complex apps. Long queues, unclear menus, lack of customization options, and inaccessible interfaces create barriers that prevent a seamless experience.
The Goal
Design an intuitive, inclusive, and delightful mobile coffee ordering app that allows users to easily browse the menu, customize their drink, place an order, and track it — all while meeting WCAG accessibility standards and reducing the cognitive load associated with ordering.
Our role
An element of our team served as the sole UX Designer on this project, owning the design process end-to-end — from initial user research through to final high-fidelity prototypes and usability testing iterations.
Project Duration
The project spanned 6 months, from October 2024 to March 2025, across two major design iterations with two rounds of usability testing in between.
